Framed abstract painting with copper sun charm
I found a framed abstract painting this afternoon around 2:15pm in the courtyard behind the Yuma Art Center on Main Street, tucked between the sculpture and a line of potted cacti. It’s acrylic on canvas, about 24 by 30 inches, with navy blues, teal greens, and gold accents. The black frame has a thin gold trim and there’s a tiny copper sun charm hanging from the bottom edge. On the back there’s a handwritten note that reads 'Gila Desert, 2016' and the bottom-right corner bears the artist’s signature 'V. Moreno.' The piece shows minor wear in the lower left corner, but overall it’s in good condition. If you recognize it, I’d love to help reunite the owner.
Framed desert landscape painting
I found a framed desert landscape painting this afternoon around 2:15pm in the parking lot behind the Yuma Art Center on 4th Avenue. The piece is about 12 by 16 inches, housed in a black wood frame with a thin gold inner lip and a small chip along the top edge. It shows a sunset over desert scrub with earthy tones and a winding blue river, with soft brushwork that almost feels watercolor-like. There's a signature in the bottom right that reads 'M. Ortega 2019' and a tiny gallery label on the back. If this is yours, it's waiting to be picked up and will be kept safe until the owner claims it.
