Brown beagle mix with red collar
I lost my brown beagle mix yesterday around 3pm near the Riverfront Park gazebo on Jefferson Ave in Springfield. He’s a medium-sized dog, about 25 pounds, with brown fur and a white chest, plus a distinctive white patch on his left hind leg. He wears a bright red collar with a silver heart-shaped tag and a small blue harness with reflective stripes. He answers to the name Milo and is very friendly once he gets to know you, but he’s shy around strangers. My daughter adores him and I’m really worried—this dog is part of our family and has sentimental value to us. If anyone sees him or has him, please reach out; we’d be grateful to reunite him with Milo soon.
Bearded dragon with orange stripes; found near Riverside Park
I found a small bearded dragon this afternoon around 3:15 pm behind Riverside Park near Willow Street Bakery on Main Street in Springfield. It's about 6 inches long from snout to tail tip, with bright orange and tan stripes and a dark brown beard when it's curious. There's a tiny chipped scale just behind its left eye that looks white in the sun, and its belly is a pale yellow. It was curled under the bench by the fountain near the bike racks, clearly curious but friendly. It seems well cared for, and I figured it might have slipped from a cage during a walk. I found a small green parakeet this afternoon around 3:50pm near the Springfield Central Library on Oak Street, right by the bus stop. It's about the size of my hand, with a bright blue tail and a subtle blue wash along the wings. It has a tiny silver leg band with the number 42, and a slightly frayed feather on its left wing. The bird seemed healthy, curious, and a little skittish, like it was waiting to be picked up by its owner. I found a small, friendly brown dog roaming around the park near 5th street this morning. It seems to be well-groomed and clearly belongs to someone. It has a black collar with no tags, so I couldn’t find its owner. I took the dog home to keep it safe and would love to return it to its rightful owner as soon as possible.
