Bright blue budgie with green leg band
Found a bright blue budgie this afternoon around 4pm near the Salem Public Library on Church Street. It's a small parakeet, about palm-sized, with cobalt-blue feathers, white wing patches, a yellow beak, and a green plastic leg band engraved with 'SA'. The bird seemed hungry and a bit skittish, so I kept it in a small travel carrier while I try to locate the owner. If this is yours, please message me with details like the leg band letters or a distinguishing mark on the wing so we can reunite you quickly.
Green parakeet with blue tail found near Riverfront Park
I found a small green parakeet this afternoon around 4:15pm, flitting along Court Street near Riverfront Park by the Salem Public Library. It's about the size of a palm, mostly emerald green with a bright blue tail and a tiny white scar on its left wing. There’s a red leg band with the code 'A12' that caught my eye, but otherwise it's in good health and squawks when I speak to it. If the owner sees this, I'd really love to help get it back—it's clearly someone's pet and this city park isn't the same without it.
Found a bright green parakeet perched on a garden fence in Salem.
I found a bright green parakeet fluttering around my backyard in Salem yesterday. It seems very friendly and was perched on my garden fence when I spotted it. I believe it might have flown away from someone's home. If you are missing this little bird, please reach out with details to confirm its identity.
Lost blue parakeet, about one year old, near the park on Main Street in Salem.
I lost my blue parakeet, which is about a year old, near the park on Main Street in Salem. He flew away from his cage after I accidentally left the door open while cleaning. He's friendly but can be a bit skittish, and I'd love to have him back home.
