Lost sandals near Phoenicia Diner

I was hiking the Phil's Lookout Trail in the Catskills near Phoenicia, NY, around 5:15 p.m. last Friday, and I stepped off the wooden boardwalk by the Phoenicia Diner and realized my sandals were missing. They’re tan with a simple strap, the kind I wear on every weekend hike. I retraced my steps, checking the pine needles and the mud where my pack rubbed my hip, but the trail is busy and the scent of pine is loud. I left the trailhead feeling hopeful but anxious, already replaying where I might have dropped them.
