Dark violin case with bow found near Palace Theatre
Found a violin case this afternoon around 2:15pm outside the Palace Theatre on Broadway in Albany. The matte black case has a few scuffs and a sturdy latch. Inside is a student-grade Cremona violin with a worn chin rest and a bow that has a green label on the shaft. There's a small brass plaque inside the lid with the initials 'J.S.' plus a tiny exterior dent on the case near the zipper. I know how much a violin can mean to a player, and I'd really love to get it back to its owner.
Black Shubb capo and red metronome
I lost my black Shubb guitar capo and a small red metronome yesterday around 3pm, somewhere near the State Capitol area on State Street in Albany. The capo is matte black with a tiny white logo on the clamp, and the metronome is a bright red plastic unit about the size of a playing card, with a noticeable scratch along the bottom edge. They were in a soft black zipper pouch that has my initials 'PP' in white on the corner. This gear isn’t just stuff—it helps me practice and the metronome was a gift from my old music teacher, so I’m really hoping to get them back. If anyone found them near Empire State Plaza or the nearby cafés, please consider returning them.
Red Yamaha 5-piece drum set
Yesterday around 3pm I realized I must have left my red Yamaha 5-piece drum set somewhere near the Palace Theatre on Lark Street in Albany after a quick rehearsal; I can't shake the feeling I left it in the parking lot behind the venue. It's a red lacquer finish kit with chrome hardware, a 22x18 kick, and a standard 12x9 rack tom, 16x16 floor tom, and a 14x5.5 snare. There are a couple of telltale marks: a small dent on the kick hoop and a blue lion sticker on the bass drum head. This kit is sentimental to me because it was a gift from my late father, and I really need it back to keep playing and gigging.
Full-size violin, cherry finish, dent on lower bout
Lost my full-size violin yesterday around 4:15pm outside the Albany Public Library on Madison Avenue, near Washington Park. It's a cherry-finish violin with a warm, bright tone and a glossy varnish that's worn in a few spots from years of practice. There’s a small dent on the lower bout, and a pencil inscription reading 'M. Rossi 1992' visible inside the f-hole. The bow is a dark wood with a slightly frayed red grip, and the case is a brown leather affair with a faded purple lining. This instrument means a lot to me; it was a gift from my grandmother and I really need it back for an upcoming recital.
