lost holiday decorations in Solomons Island, MD
On Friday at 7:45 PM, I last saw the holiday decorations hanging on the porch rail of our Solomons Island cottage near the Boardwalk. A chilly breeze swept through the evening, and when I went to tidy up a moment later, they were gone. The garlands, wreaths, and a string of red-and-green lights were a little worn but still bright—the kind my kids helped me hang after school. It feels silly to admit, but the decorations carry family memories and a little too much sentiment for a random souvenir. I’m hopeful someone found them and left them somewhere safe along the Solomons Island Boardwalk, perhaps near the lighthouse.
Red knit Santa hat with white fur trim
I found a red knit Santa hat with white faux fur trim this afternoon around 2:15 pm in the parking lot behind the Walmart on Crain Highway in Waldorf, Southern Maryland. It's child-sized looking, with a cute little pinecone charm sewn on the cuff and a tiny coffee stain on the white trim. Inside there’s a pale blue fabric tag with the initials 'LT' in green thread. I picked it up because I figured someone probably dropped it while loading groceries. If this belongs to you, describe the charm, the initials, or the stain and I’ll bring it to you—seasonal stuff like this deserves to be back with its owner.
