Lost Parrots near Riverside Park, Roseburg, Oregon
About 6:45 p.m. yesterday, I was at Riverside Park by the Umpqua River in Roseburg, talking with a neighbor while the sun dipped behind the pines. My two parrots flew from their crate and disappeared into the trees, their bright green and blue feathers catching the last light; one has a small red band on its leg, the other a yellow beak. I have raised them since they were chicks, and the thought of them wandering alone makes my heart sink. I have searched the picnic shelter, the boat ramp, and even the carousel area, calling their names in a voice I hope they recognize. If you have seen them or heard a faint chirp, please help me bring them back home.
