Found holiday decorations washed ashore on Oregon Coast
I found a bundle of holiday decorations washed up on the wind-swept beach near Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach, around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, December 2. The stash includes a red plaid scarf, a garland of lights, a Santa figure, and a wreath tangled with seaweed. The sea breeze and the scent of salt made me pause, and I picked them up, hoping to reunite them with their owner. If these are yours, I’m sharing them here in case you’re nearby and recognize them.
Lost organizers near Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, Oregon Coast
Last night around 6:15 p.m., I was on a bench along the Newport waterfront near the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, taking a break after work on the Oregon Coast. I placed my two desk organizers on the bench while I sorted through a bag, then turned back and they were gone. They’re simple, but I rely on them to keep pens, cords, and a USB drive in order during long shifts at the harbor. I’m worried they’ll be misplaced forever, and I miss having that little system back in place near Nye Beach.
Brass compass in tan leather pouch
I lost my brass compass yesterday around 3pm while strolling the Yaquina Bayfront Boardwalk near the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. It’s a small round compass, about an inch across, with a warm brass patina and a thin black cord loop. The accompanying pouch is light tan leather with visible hand stitching and a tiny dent on the rim; the back is engraved with the initials EB. It means a lot to me — it was my grandfather’s travel keepsake from this coast, and I really need it back if anyone finds it.

I found a beautiful and unusual seashell while walking along the beach at the Oregon Coast. It has intricate patterns and a shiny surface. I had it in my coat pocket, but it must have fallen out while I was exploring the tide pools nearby. I'm hoping to get it back because it was a special piece from my childhood collecting days.
