I retraced my steps along the wooden boardwalk by the water and down toward the tiny shops near the lighthouse, hoping it slipped into my bag or a pocket I forgot. The sunset lit Puget Sound in gold, which felt cruel as I heard a ping of worry in my chest. This license is more than a card—it's a link to responsibilities and a reminder of my upcoming trip.
