I lost my small brass compass yesterday around 3pm near the parking lot behind the Dennos Museum Center on College Avenue in Traverse City, Northern Michigan. It's about 1.75 inches across, with a brushed brass finish, and it sits in a worn brown leather pouch with a faint map print on the flap. The back is engraved with the initials 'W.R.' and there's a tiny dent on the rim from a fall on a rocky trail. It was a gift from my grandfather and has sentimental value, so I really need it back—it's the one I use on weekend hikes along the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay. I lost my blue and white striped beach umbrella while enjoying a day at the beach near Traverse City, Northern Michigan. The winds picked up unexpectedly, and I turned around to find my umbrella missing. I've been searching high and low but haven't been able to locate it. It's a favorite of mine, and I really hope someone might have seen it or picked it up.
