I was wrapping up a study session outside Montclair State University Library in Montclair at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday when my student ID must have slipped from my pocket. The card bears my photo and the school logo, and without it I can’t access the dorms or campus facilities until I replace it. I retraced my steps through Montclair Center and checked the benches by Walnut Street Station, but the card didn’t turn up. Finals week is stressful enough without worrying about losing access, and I’d be grateful to get it back.

Today, around 4:15 PM, I found a folder containing travel visas on a bench outside a cafe near Journal Square PATH Station in Jersey City. It looked official enough to give anyone pause, with a brown folder and a few passport-sized photos peeking out. I tucked it under my jacket to keep it safe while I scanned the area for anyone lingering nearby, but no one seemed to be looking for it. I know how important these papers are, and I would want the owner to have them returned quickly.
