Lost: Trading Cards in Mattoon-Charleston area
Today at around 2:15 p.m., I was near the Mattoon downtown area when I realized my binder of trading cards was missing from my backpack. It is a red binder with a dragon sticker on the front, filled with 1990s baseball cards and a few rare inserts. I last saw it on a bench by the Mattoon Public Library on Broadway, just outside the library steps. I have retraced my route and spoken to a few shopkeepers, but no luck so far. If this sounds like yours or you found it, please keep it safe until we can reconnect.
lost appliances near Mattoon downtown
I lost a couple of appliances Friday around 8:15 PM while moving into my new place on East Main Street in Mattoon, near the downtown square by the Coles County Courthouse. A white toaster oven and a compact blender were in a small plastic bin when a gust of wind knocked it onto the curb and sent the cords sprawling. They aren’t flashy, but they’re mine and I need them back as I settle into this new chapter. If you’ve seen them around the Mattoon-Charleston area, I’d really appreciate getting them back.
Found travel bags near Mattoon Public Library
Last Saturday at 3:20 p.m., I was by the Mattoon Public Library steps when two travel bags appeared on a bench by the sidewalk. A teal rolling suitcase and a gray duffel with a bright red strap looked recently left behind, untouched since I first noticed them. I checked for a name tag and found nothing obvious, so I moved them to a secure spot near the library desk in case the owner returns. It felt like a tiny responsibility—not every day you get to do the right thing for a stranger's trip. If these belong to you, please use the site to identify and reclaim them.
Lost Action Figures in Mattoon-Charleston area
I realized my action figures were missing after leaving the Mattoon Comic & Collectibles shop on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. I was walking back to my car near downtown Mattoon, by the old train depot, when I noticed several figures were gone. The set includes a glow-in-the-dark Spider-Man and a vintage robot from the 1990s—small characters, big memories for my son and me. I hope they’re just misplaced and someone who found them will see this post.
Lost wrist watch in Mattoon-Charleston
I LOST my wrist watch during the Mattoon-Charleston Civic Parade around 7:40 p.m. last Friday when it disappeared from my wrist. It’s a silver case with a blue face and a black leather band, with a small dent on the side that makes it easy to spot. I retraced my steps along Main Street, past the Mattoon Square and the old courthouse, hoping someone picked it up. I wear this watch every day for work, and it carries memories of weekend visits here with my family. I’d be grateful if it’s found and kept safe until I can get back to it.
Lost swimsuits in Mattoon-Charleston, IL
I was at the pool at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston around 5:30 pm on Saturday when I realized my swimsuits weren’t in my bag. They’re two kid-sized one-pieces, pink and blue, with a tiny towel tucked in the pocket. I retraced my steps from the pool area toward the parking lot near the alumni house, but I couldn’t find them. I’m worried and a little goofy about losing them right before a big family weekend, hoping someone spotted them and kept them safe.
Lost: Hamsters in Mattoon-Charleston.
Lost: My two hamsters, Milo and Pebble, in Mattoon-Charleston, Illinois. I last saw them around 6:45 p.m. yesterday, when I opened the living room door near the downtown Charleston square by the Coles County Courthouse and they scampered behind the sofa. They are tiny—Milo is brown with a white belly; Pebble is gray with a small black dot on her ear—and they squeak when I rattle their treat jar. They mean the world to me; they've kept me company through tough days, and I am terrified they could be hiding somewhere hard to reach. If you've seen them or heard a squeak behind a couch, please help me bring them home.
Found drone in Mattoon-Charleston area
Yesterday around 7:15 p.m., I spotted a drone wobbling above the parking lot near the Mattoon Library in Mattoon-Charleston. It drifted down and landed in the grass, and I picked it up while the sun sank behind the Coles County Courthouse. It’s a small green-and-black quadcopter with a yellow sticker that says 'SkyRider' on top, and one propeller is nicked. I felt a wave of relief thinking the owner might be searching tonight, so I have kept it safe on my porch, hoping this helps reunite us.
Lost: Medication in Mattoon-Charleston
I was on Mattoon’s Main Street, in front of the Mattoon Public Library, around 10:30 a.m. this morning when I realized my bottle of medication was missing from my tote. The bottle is small, white, with a blue label, and I keep it close because my daily routine can’t skip a dose. I retraced my steps past the coffee shop and the alley behind it, but I didn’t spot it. The moment it clicked I felt a knot in my stomach—these pills matter to my health and timing. I hope whoever found it will keep it safe until I can pick it up.
Lost Dresses on Main Street, Charleston
Sunday at 3:40 PM I was loading dresses into my car after a quick stop on Mattoon-Charleston's Main Street near the Coles County Courthouse. A gust of wind whisked the bags away and I couldn't chase them all. I feel silly and stressed—these dresses are for our family wedding this weekend. The navy velvet maxi, the champagne cocktail dress, and a soft floral day dress are all missing, and I keep picturing them flapping in the breeze somewhere between the courthouse and Mattoon's city park. If anyone found them, I would be endlessly grateful.
Lost black Coach wallet with cards
Lost my black coach wallet with all my cards ID as well most likely in the cross county mall
Lost CDs near downtown Mattoon after class
I lost my CDs after an early-evening music study group outside the Mattoon Public Library on Broadway. I had taken them out to sort through a few tracks around 6:45 pm last Friday, and by the time I walked back to my car they were gone from the passenger seat. The case is black with a red sticker and a blue notebook tucked inside. Those discs mattered to me because they include a mix of indie releases and a few older favorites from high school. I’ve retraced my steps along Main Street and the library walkway, but I can’t shake the feeling that someone picked them up and forgot to tell me.
Found hats near Mattoon Town Square
Yesterday afternoon around 3:30 p.m., I was strolling Mattoon’s Town Square, near the Coles County Courthouse, when I spotted a small pile of hats on the brick sidewalk. A navy beanie, a brown fedora, and a couple of sun caps were lying together as if someone dropped them in a rush. I picked them up, checked for a note or a tag, but nothing. They look like they belong to someone who wears them with care, and I can tell they were worn recently. I’m putting them here hoping the rightful owner sees this and can claim them through the site.
Two landscape paintings lost in town.
I'm Emily Carter, and I'm looking for two landscape paintings that disappeared from my Mattoon-Charleston home after a quick stop downtown. On Tuesday around 6:15 p.m., I carried them from our living room to the car near the Mattoon Public Library on Main Street and must have forgotten them somewhere along that block. The set includes two 20x24 inch frames with gold trim; one shows a sunset over cornfields near Mattoon, the other a quiet river view just west of Charleston. They're irreplaceable to me because they belonged to my grandmother, and losing them feels like losing a piece of her. I'm hoping someone spotted them on the sidewalk or tucked behind the alley behind the Main Street shops.
