Lost: Keyboards in Mankato, Minnesota
I was packing up after a quick rehearsal near Riverfront Park in Mankato around 7:15 p.m. last Friday. I must have left behind my two compact keyboards in a gray gig bag with a purple strap; one keyboard has a small sticker of a yellow star on the corner and a dent on the left edge. Those keyboards are the backbone of my practice and small gigs, and I’m stressed imagining them sitting lonely in some corner of the venue. If anyone found them, I’d be grateful to hear anything about their whereabouts.
FOUND: Sheet Music near Center Street, Riverfront Park
I found a stack of sheet music under a bench on Center Street by Riverfront Park this morning around 9:15 a.m. The papers are well‑loved—sticky notes in pencil marks, cramped tempo numbers, and a page torn at the edge. There are pieces for piano, some for guitar, and a coffee‑stained receipt tucked between the pages. The folder is worn, a bit damp from last night’s drizzle, the cover showing the name 'L. Chen' in faded ink. It felt personal, like someone was between practice sessions and a recital. I left them on the bench where I found them, hoping the owner or a kind passerby would recognize the music and claim them soon.
Sunburst Yamaha FG800 acoustic guitar
I lost my sunburst Yamaha FG800 acoustic guitar yesterday around 3pm near the MSU Library on Stadium Road in Mankato. It's in a black hard-shell case, and a red guitar strap with white stars is attached. The guitar has a small dent on the lower bout and a sun-shaped sticker near the soundhole. This guitar is sentimental—my grandfather bought it for me before he passed—and I really need it back.
Natural maple snare drum with blue decals
Found a 14x6.5 inch maple snare drum this afternoon around 2:15pm in the MSU campus parking lot behind the Student Union on Victory Drive, right here in Mankato. The shell is a natural maple finish with chrome hardware, and there are light scratches along the rim from use. Inside the rim there's a small blue decal that says 'MSU Percussion Club,' plus a couple of drumstick marks on the batter head. If this belongs to someone in the MSU music program, please get in touch and I’ll arrange a pickup from the Student Union area.
Silver trumpet with engraving near Riverfront Park
I found a full-size silver Yamaha trumpet this afternoon around 2:30pm near Riverfront Park's gazebo on Front Street. It has a few small scratches on the bell and a tiny dent near the third valve slide, but it plays nicely. The bell is engraved with 'J.P.' and the blue velvet case has a bright yellow zipper. The instrument probably belongs to a student or local band player; I’d really like to get it back to its owner.
Lost vintage black leather guitar pick holder with unique lightning bolt pick near Lange's Park in Mankato.
I lost my vintage guitar pick holder around Lange's Park in Mankato last Saturday. It’s a small, black leather case, and inside are some really unique picks, including one shaped like a lightning bolt. The holder has sentimental value as it was a gift from my grandfather, and I'd really love to get it back.
Lost dark wood violin with floral carvings near the park in Mankato.
I lost my violin while I was walking near the park in Mankato yesterday afternoon. I had taken it out for some fresh air while practicing in a more open space. It has a dark wood finish with some floral carvings on the body. I'm really worried about it, as it holds a lot of sentimental value for me.
Lost blue clarinet with a name tag near the music store in Mankato.
I lost my blue clarinet while walking to the music store near Mankato. I think I might have dropped it while getting my keys out of my bag. It has my name tag on the inside, and it means a lot to me since it was a gift from my grandfather. If anyone finds it, please let me know!
