Cockatiel with yellow crest and orange cheeks
I lost my pet cockatiel, Sunny, yesterday around 3pm. He's a gray cockatiel with a bright yellow crest and orange cheek patches, about the size of a fist, with a silver leg band on his right leg labeled A12 and a small blue tail feather that sticks out. I last saw him near the Ithaca Commons on Green Street, around the Ithaca Bakery, and I’m pretty sure he wandered toward Cass Park by Cayuga Lake. His feathers are a bit ruffled after flight, but otherwise he's in good shape. He’s incredibly affectionate and brightens my days; losing him has me worried and heartbroken—he’s more than just a bird, he’s family. If you spot him, please message me; I’ll come right away with his favorite sunflower seeds and a travel cage.
Found green parakeet near Ithaca Commons, Cayuga Lake
Found a small green parakeet with a bright yellow tail this afternoon around 4:15pm near the Ithaca Commons on State Street, with a clear view of Cayuga Lake. The bird is palm-sized, mostly green, with a splash of blue on one wing and a pale orange beak. It wears a silver leg band etched with FL-04, which helped me verify it's not a wild bird. It seemed fairly friendly, hopped onto my finger and chirped when I spoke softly. I picked it up to keep it safe while I try to locate the owner in the Finger Lakes area.
