Lost terrariums near Wilmington Riverwalk
Last Sunday I was at the Wilmington Riverwalk near the Battleship North Carolina around 11:15 am, and I must have set my terrariums down while I snapped photos of the river. They’re three glass containers on a small black metal stand: one tall cylinder with a tiny fern, another squat jar with bright green moss, and a petite globe hosting a delicate air plant. They’re not just decorations—they were gifts from my grandmother, and I’d carried them along the boardwalk as the breeze carried the scent of salt and wax from the lighthouse. When I looked back, they were gone, and my chest tightened with worry. I retraced steps past the benches, fishermen, and a dog nodding at a sailor statue, but they vanished into the crowd.
