On Friday 8 December, around 7:45 pm, I lost my bag of holiday decorations from the living room of my flat on Fore Street in St Ives, Cornwall. The garlands with silver tinsel and a dozen red-and-green baubles were meant for the village Christmas display at the parish hall this weekend. I last set them on the coffee table at 7:30 pm, while I watched the waves from the window overlooking Porthminster Beach.
