Green parakeet with blue leg band found downtown Charlottesville
Found a small green parakeet this afternoon around 2:15pm near the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville, by the Market Street entrance to the Jefferson Theater. It has a blue leg band with the numbers 482 and a tiny nick on the left wing that sticks out a bit. The bird is pretty calm, chirping softly when I offered a treat and perched briefly on my finger. It's in good shape and seems well-cared-for, not hungry or thin. If this is your bird or you know who it might belong to, let me know and we can figure out a safe meetup to get it back to its home in Charlottesville.
Bearded dragon with orange accents, blue harness
I lost my bearded dragon, Nova, yesterday around 3pm near Barracks Road Shopping Center in Charlottesville. Nova is olive-green with bright orange accents on his head and throat, about 9 inches long, and he's wearing a light blue silicone harness with a tiny silver bell. There's a small white scar on the left side of his snout and a few dark specks near the base of his tail. He's a gentle guy and means the world to us; we really need him back—my niece is worried and it's been a rough week.

I found a dog this morning around 7:30am near the Downtown Mall on Market Street, Charlottesville. It's a medium-sized, brown-and-white mixed-breed with a bright blue collar and a small heart-shaped white patch on its chest. The dog has a tiny notch in the right ear and a friendly, well-groomed look; it seemed well cared for and wagged at me as I approached. I found a friendly orange tabby cat wandering around my backyard in Charlottesville, just off Elliewood Avenue. She has a white patch on her chest and seems very well-fed, so she might belong to someone nearby. I've named her Pumpkin until the owner is located. She's very affectionate and likes to be inside.
