I woke to a chilly mist and realized the sculptures I spent months shaping were gone. After the Bellingham Arts Walk, I left them in a weatherproof crate beside our booth around 6:45 pm last Friday, near the corner of Bay Street and Cornwall Avenue in Boulevard Park. A gust knocked the crate, and it rolled toward the grass by the path and disappeared into the crowd. The sculptures are a mixed-media pair: one about 18 inches tall, a dark bronze figure with looping arms; the other a pale ceramic with blue glaze on the rim. I’m anxious, and I fear they might be lost to me until someone spots them.
