Lost hats near Valley Plaza Mall, Bakersfield.

Last Friday at 7:15 pm, I realized my two hats were gone after I stepped out of the food court at Valley Plaza Mall in Bakersfield. I had just grabbed a quick coffee by the entrance and chatted with a security guard near the fountain. The hats were a black knit beanie with a tiny pinecone patch and a light gray sun hat. They’ve traveled with me on long drives down Olive Drive and sunny days at nearby parks, and losing them feels like losing a piece of my daily routine. If someone picked them up, I’m hoping they’re safe somewhere nearby.
