Lost travel visas in Ames

On Tuesday at 4:15 pm, I was walking across the Iowa State University campus near the Memorial Union when I realized my travel visas weren’t in my folder. They were tucked into a slim leather document holder along with my passport photos and flight itinerary. I’m anxious because I’m due to fly soon and every minute counts. I hope whoever finds them understands how important these documents are.

found utensils near Campanile, Ames

Today around 4:10 p.m., I found a small set of utensils on a bench near the Campanile on the ISU campus. They were wrapped in a napkin, like someone had grabbed a quick bite between classes and forgotten them. I checked around for a moment but didn’t see anyone looking for them, so I kept them safe on the bench until the area cleared. It felt good to return something that probably belongs to a fellow student or staff member.

Lost Xylophones near Ames Public Library

Last Sunday around 7:45 PM, I was packing up after rehearsal at the Ames High School auditorium and realized my xylophones were missing somewhere along Douglas Avenue near the Ames Public Library's east entrance. I retraced my steps along the sidewalk by the library, but they were nowhere to be found. It’s a small student set, bright red mallets attached with a yellow cord, and it means a lot to me to have them back for practice. If you see them, please know they’re important and I’d be grateful to get them back.

Lost chargers near ISU Campustown, Ames

I was heading back to the dorm from the ISU library in Campustown around 7:15 pm when I realized my chargers were missing. I carry two USB-C fast chargers and a spare USB-A brick in a small gray pouch. I must have set them down at a study table near the campus bookstore before heading to my apartment. These chargers are essential for late-night study sessions, and I’m anxious about not having them help me stay on schedule. I filed this listing in the hope someone honest found them and will return them to the campus lost-and-found or to the site.

Lost felines near ISU campus

Hi, I'm Emma Larson. I lost my two felines last night around 9:15 pm near the ISU campus, specifically around Welch Avenue. They slipped out the door while I was bringing in groceries and haven't come back. The tabby has a white chest patch, and the calico is mostly orange and white; both are friendly but skittish. I’m anxious and worried—these two are my family. I've looked around the apartments off Welch, checked the student housing courtyards, and posted notices, but no sign yet. If you happen to see two small cats wandering the Welch Avenue area, please keep an eye out and let me know through the site.

Lost: Driver's License in Ames, near Campustown

I realized I didn’t have my driver's license around 9:40 PM Tuesday after leaving the ISU Book Store on Welch Ave in Campustown. I must have set it down on a cafe table or in the checkout area, and by the time I retraced my steps I couldn't find it. Losing this ID has me anxious about getting to work and class tomorrow. If anyone found it, please know how important it is to me.

Lost Canines near ISU campus, Ames

I lost my two dogs this morning around 6:30 AM while walking near the ISU campus on Welch Avenue in Ames. Maple, a brown Labrador with a white chest, and Pip, a small fluffy corgi, slipped their leash and darted toward Campustown. I chased them down the sidewalk past the ISU Bookstore and up Welch Avenue, but they vanished into the trees near Ada Hayden Lake before I could catch them. They mean the world to me, and I’m desperate to bring them home; please keep an eye out if you see any dogs matching their description.

LOST: Flutes near ISU Campanile, Ames

I realized my flute was missing around 4:30 p.m. today after a quick rehearsal on the Iowa State University campus in Ames. I must have set it down on a bench near the Campanile while I ducked into a bookstore, and by the time I returned, it was gone. The flute is a student model with a bright silver finish and a dent in the lip plate; it's central to my recital next week. If you found it, I’d be deeply grateful to have it returned through this site.

On Tuesday around 5:30 PM, I found a scarf draped over a bench along College Creek Park near the Memorial Union on the ISU campus in Ames. found: Pins in Ames near ISU campus

I was walking behind the ISU Memorial Union in Ames around 8:45 a.m. when I found a small bundle of enamel pins. They’re a mix of campus logos and quirky designs, tucked into a clear plastic pouch I spotted on the sidewalk by Campustown. I picked them up hoping they belonged to someone who would recognize them, because they looked like a personal collection rather than stray trinkets. If these pins belong to you, I hope you see this and can reconnect with them soon.

found GPS devices near ISU Memorial Union

Last Thursday, around 7:20 p.m., I found a weathered black GPS device case on the sidewalk near the ISU Memorial Union in Ames, Iowa. Inside the case were two GPS units with tangled cords and a frayed charging cable. The scene felt oddly precise yet ordinary—a reminder that someone’s travel plans, job routes, or hiking trips could hinge on these devices. I picked them up, checked the nearby benches, and kept an eye out for a lost-and-found post at the campus center. I’m posting this in case the owner sees it.

Lost: Postcards – Ames

Hi, I’m Sophie Carter. On Tuesday at 7:15 p.m., I left a small stack of postcards on a bench outside the ISU Campanile and by the time I got back they were gone. The cards are a mix from a Midwest road trip, tied with light blue twine, with my grandmother’s handwriting on the back. They matter to me because they carry memories from our travels, including a quick sketch I did myself. I’m hoping someone who found them kept them safe near Welch Avenue, close to the Campus Book Store.

Found: Holiday Decorations in Ames.

I found these Holiday Decorations this morning around 11:30 a.m. near Main Street and Grand Avenue in Ames, Iowa. A tote with string lights and several ornaments had been left on the curb by the sidewalk while I was walking to the library. I picked them up and brought them here, hoping the owner checks this listing and can reclaim their festive items. It reminded me how special decorating can be, even in the middle of a grey January day.
