I was wandering through Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron last Saturday around 2:20 p.m. during a little street festival when my two favorite brooches slipped from my coat and disappeared into the crowd. They're small, silver-toned owls with tiny blue stones, about the size of a nickel, and they mean a lot to me because they were gifts from my grandmother. I searched the grassy slopes and the steps by the stage, feeling equal parts hopeful and overwhelmed by the sea of people. If someone found them among the festival spill of sun and laughter, I’d be grateful to hear through the site.
