Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Youngstown are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Youngstown in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost hand tools near Mill Creek Park, Youngstown.

On Thursday around 2:15 p.m., I realized my hand tools were missing from the back of my pickup after finishing a small repair job near Wick Avenue in downtown Youngstown. I retraced my steps along Phelps Street toward Mill Creek Park, checking the sidewalks and the curb as I went, but they weren’t there. The toolbox is blue with initials on the lid, and the hammer head has a noticeable dent—it’s not fancy, but it’s mine and I rely on it for little repairs. It’s frustrating being without them, and I hope someone who found them will bring them here so I can get back to work.

Lost saxophones in Youngstown

I was practicing at about 8:00 PM last Friday near Powers Auditorium on Wick Avenue in downtown Youngstown when I realized my saxophones weren’t in the rehearsal room anymore. The alto has a small dent near the bell and the lacquer shows wear; the tenor is shinier but also has a few scratches. They’re essential to my gigs, and I’m heartbroken at the thought of not having them for the next show. If you found them, please let the site know—I’ll describe the instruments in detail to verify ownership.

Lost sandals by Wick Ave near Eastwood Mall

Last Friday around 5:30 PM, I was walking from the gym to meet my sister at the food court, and I must have kicked off my sandals on the sidewalk by the Wick Avenue entrance of Eastwood Mall. I turned around a minute later and they were gone. They’re simple gray-green fabric slides with a tiny fray on the left strap. They’re the only shoes that don’t give me blisters after a day on my feet, so I’m really hoping someone found them and held onto them.

Lost CDs near Covelli Centre, Youngstown

I lost my CDs after a show at the Covelli Centre, around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, as I shuffled out onto West Federal Street. My tote brushed a curb and spilled, and the discs scattered across the sidewalk by the main entrance. They’re a mix: three black cases with handwriting on the labels, one clear case with a blue sticker, and several worn spines that remember old road trips. These discs aren’t just music; they are memories from college and long drives through downtown Youngstown. If anyone found them, please leave a note here on the site; I’ll check back regularly for updates. I’ll be hoping for a reunion with my soundtrack.

Lost felines in Youngstown area

This morning around 8:20 AM I realized my two felines were gone after a gate was left ajar near Wick Park, by Beeghly Library on the Youngstown State University campus. Milo is a curious grey tabby, Luna a soft calico, and both tend to vanish into the first sunny corner of a park. They’re skittish but affectionate once they know you, and I’m terrified they might be cold or hungry out there. If you’ve seen them, please know I’m holding onto hope and thinking about their purrs and little nose nudges that always bring me back home.

Lost board games from game night.

I was at a friend's apartment near Stambaugh Stadium in downtown Youngstown last Friday around 8:45 PM, hosting a casual game night. I tucked the box with our favorite board games—Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne, and a few party games—beneath the coffee table as we packed up. When I stood to grab my coat, the box must have vanished from the living room and possibly slipped toward the stairwell by the elevator. I keep replaying the moment, hoping it turned up around Wick Park or on a bus that runs along East Wood Street. Losing those games feels like losing a little piece of the night we laughed until midnight.
