Lost wallet or purse — immediate steps

The first moves to make when your wallet or purse goes missing — cards, ID, and protecting yourself from fraud.

A lost wallet or purse in Waco means two jobs at once: stopping fraud and replacing what's gone. The first hour matters most.

  1. Freeze your cards. Open each bank's app and freeze or cancel every debit and credit card. Most apps let you lock a card instantly and order a replacement.
  2. Check for unfamiliar activity. Review recent transactions and report anything you didn't make.
  3. Protect your identity. If ID was inside, take steps to guard against identity theft and consider a fraud alert or protective registration.
  4. Replace your ID and licence. Start replacements for your driver's licence or ID card through the relevant authority for your area.
  5. Retrace and report. Contact the last places you visited in Waco and report the loss to the police non-emergency line if it may have been stolen.
  6. Post a listing. Add a lost-wallet listing for Waco — many wallets are handed in and reunited this way.

Set of keys on red paracord lanyard with brass tag

I lost my keys yesterday around 3pm near the Magnolia Market at the Silos, in the parking area by the entrance on 6th Street. They’re on a red paracord lanyard with a small brass tag engraved with the initials 'KB' and a tiny compass charm. The set includes two house keys and a car key on a black metal ring; the paracord is slightly frayed, but everything else is intact. It’s pretty sentimental to me—these keys have been with me for years and I’d be grateful to get them back.

Black Coach wallet with photos, lost near Dr Pepper Museum

I'm posting because I lost my black Coach wallet yesterday around 3:15 pm near the Dr Pepper Museum on 5th Street in downtown Waco. It's a slim black leather bi-fold, with a tiny Coach emblem on the bottom right and a blue inner lining you can glimpse when you open it. Inside are my driver's license, a couple of debit cards, and a few old photos of my niece. There's a light coffee stain on the front and a small dent along the top edge, plus initials 'AH' engraved in the inside card slot. This wallet is sentimental—gift from my grandmother—and I really need it back. If you found it, I’d really appreciate getting it back.

Brown Fossil wallet with photo ID lost near Magnolia Market

I lost my brown Fossil leather wallet yesterday around 3pm near Magnolia Market at the Silos in Waco. It's a slim, olive-tan piece about the size of a credit card holder, with a warm patina and a small coffee stain on the back. Inside are my driver's license, a couple of cards, and a tiny photo collage of my family. The lining has a tiny cactus sticker I added years ago, and one corner is slightly frayed. This wallet is more than just stuff to me - it was a gift from my grandmother, and I really need it back.
