On Sunday at 7:45 p.m., I left our beach chairs at Clearwater Beach near Pier 60 and came back to find my two swimsuits missing from the mesh bag. One is a bright red tankini, the other a blue one-piece with white trim, both tucked in a striped bag. I’d last seen them by a lifeguard stand, just as the sun dipped toward the horizon. The swimsuits aren’t just clothing to me—they belonged to my teenage daughter, a small reminder of summers we shared here.
