Lost Brooches near Plattsburgh-Adirondacks, NY
On Friday at 6:45 p.m., I realized my brooches were missing while I walked the lakefront path by the Lake Champlain shoreline near City Beach in Plattsburgh. The pins are silver with tiny initials; one is teardrop-shaped with a pale blue stone. I remember fastening them at a café table after a quick phone call, then stepping out into the cool air and noticing they weren’t in my coat. They belonged to my grandmother and mother and feel like pieces of family history.
