Found two dogs near Bodie Island Lighthouse
I found two dogs wandering along the beach access near Bodie Island Lighthouse yesterday around 7:45 p.m. They looked relieved to see people but were clearly hungry and a little scared. One is a black lab mix with a bright red collar; the other a smaller tan terrier mix with a blue collar. I stayed with them for a bit, offering water from my bottle and keeping them close until someone recognized them or their owner arrived. It felt rewarding to help them get to safety on a chilly Outer Banks evening.
Blue paperback mystery, orange fish bookmark, creased cover
I’m the one who lost this blue paperback mystery last night around 3pm near the Jennette's Pier entrance in Nags Head, Outer Banks. It’s a 350-page paperback with a slightly creased blue cover and a silver foil title, The Silent Tide, and an orange fish-shaped bookmark sticking out from page 142. Inside there are a few dog-eared margins and a coffee-stained receipt tucked in the back cover. This book matters to me—it's a gift from my aunt and has real sentimental value. If anyone found it, I’d be grateful to get it back; we can meet at the pier or a nearby cafe.
