I had just wrapped a quick rehearsal at a studio in Costa Mesa, and at 6:22 PM on Saturday I stepped out toward the plaza and sat on a bench by the South Coast Plaza entrance. I set my two flutes on the bench while I tuned one last thing, then a crowd swelled and I got distracted. By the time I looked again, they were gone. The flutes are silver, one with a dent on the lip plate and a worn black leather case; they’re how I make a living and carry a lot of personal history. I’m hoping someone found them and kept them safe.

Lost shoes in Orange County, California

On Saturday night around 9:10 pm, after a quick jog along Crystal Cove State Park’s bluff trail, I realized my go-to running shoes were missing from my bag. They’re black with white soles, size 9, and one has a small scuff on the toe while the other is almost pristine. I rely on them for daily runs along the coast and they feel like part of my routine. I’d just finished a sunset jog near the Crystal Cove parking lot and headed back toward Laguna Beach when I noticed one shoe was gone. Lost paintings near the Irvine Spectrum Center

I was unwinding after a long gallery stroll when I realized my two paintings were missing.
