Found an item? Your responsibilities

What to do when you find someone else's property — your responsibilities and how to return it safely.

Found something in Oklahoma City? Handling it responsibly protects both you and the owner. Rules vary by location, but the principles are consistent.

  1. Make a reasonable effort to find the owner. Check for ID, contact details, or anything that identifies who it belongs to.
  2. Don't assume it's yours to keep. Keeping found property without trying to return it can have legal consequences. When in doubt, hand it in.
  3. Hand valuables to the authorities. Report significant or high-value finds to the police non-emergency line for Oklahoma City; they'll log it and may issue a reference.
  4. Store it safely. Keep the item secure and unchanged while you try to return it.
  5. Post a found listing. Add a found-item listing for Oklahoma City with enough detail for the real owner to identify it — while holding back one verifying detail.

Found sculptures near Devon Tower, OKC

I’m Olivia Martin, and I found a bundle of sculptures lying by the curb outside the Devon Tower in Oklahoma City around 3:15 p.m. today. They’re a small set of bronze figures, possibly part of a gallery display or a class project. They aren’t mine, so I kept them in my car to keep them safe while I looked for clues about who they belong to. The relief of knowing someone might be missing them again was real, and I want to help reunite the pieces with their owner. If these belong to you, please check the listing and describe any identifying marks or the gallery label so we can reunite you with your work.

Found organizers near Myriad Gardens, OKC

I was walking along the Bricktown canal this afternoon around 3:42 PM when I spotted a small plastic set of drawer organizers lying on the sidewalk near the Myriad Gardens entrance. They’re a blue-lidded, clear-top set, obviously used for desk supplies. I checked for a tag and found nothing, so I carried them to the security desk by the canal, hoping the owner would see this listing and recognize their stuff. I’m glad someone will get them back and can use them again.

Found Drones in Oklahoma City

While walking along the Bricktown Canal near the Myriad Gardens around 7:20 pm today, I spotted two drones resting on a patch of grass. I picked them up and checked for any tags, but there was no owner information visible. I brought them home to keep them safe and figure out who they belong to. They look like consumer quadcopters with protective cases and a couple spare batteries. If these are yours, please message me on the site so we can arrange a handoff from downtown OKC.

Gold-tone bracelet with star and heart charms

I found a gold-tone bracelet this afternoon around 2:30pm near the Myriad Gardens entrance on Reno Ave in downtown Oklahoma City. It's a slim, 7mm-wide piece with a small lobster clasp that’s a little scratched up from weather. The bracelet has two tiny charms—a star and a heart—plus a faint engraving on the clasp that looks like the letter 'P'. It seems well-made but shows evidence of wear, so I’m hoping it belongs to someone who'll recognize it. If this sounds like yours, shoot me a message and we’ll arrange a quick meetup to return it.

Found: black rectangular glasses with blue case

Found a pair of black rectangular prescription glasses this afternoon near the Bricktown Canal in Oklahoma City. They have a subtle gold hinge on the temples and a tiny scratch on the left lens, plus a blue microfiber cleaning cloth tucked into a gray fabric hard case. I picked them up outside the entrance to the Devon Tower on N Hudson Ave around 3:15 pm after seeing someone drop them near the bike racks. They look like they belong to someone who relies on them to see clearly, so if you recognize these features, please email me so we can get them back to their owner.

Teak coffee table with glass insert, found in Bricktown

I found a solid teak coffee table this afternoon around 2:45pm near the Bricktown Canal walkway, just behind the Chesapeake Energy Arena on 1st Street. It's about 3 feet long, with a warm honey-brown finish and a glass insert in the center that has a tiny chip at the corner. There’s a small brass drawer pull on the front and four tapered legs; it looks like it spent some time indoors and has a little dust. I’d love to get it back to its owner—the table clearly belongs in a home, not a passerby’s find. If this sounds right, message me with details like any distinguishing marks (the dent on the front edge or the brass pull) and where you last remember it.
