I last saw them near the bike racks outside the Cherry Republic on Front Street in downtown Traverse City. I marked the inside waistband with my initials 'PP' and there’s a faint saltwater stain from yesterday’s harbor breeze. Last Friday around 5:15 pm, I was wrapping up a meeting on Front Street in downtown Traverse City and loading my car when I realized my two work cases were missing. I must have left them along the path by Clinch Park as I checked my notes on my phone. They’re black leather and a bit scuffed, with a small brass initials plate inside. I’ve been shaken since, thinking about the documents and photos inside that keep my job organized. If someone picked them up, I hope they’re somewhere safe nearby.
