Brass pocket watch found near Walmart, North Platte

I found a small brass pocket watch this afternoon around 2:15pm in the Walmart parking lot on S Dewey St, North Platte. It's a vintage-looking piece with a tarnished brass case, a cracked glass face, and a dark brown leather fob. On the back there’s an engraving: initials 'J.S.' and a tiny star-shaped scratch near the edge. The thing still ticks when I wind it a bit, which makes me think it’s still worth trying to get back to its owner. If this belongs to you, describe the initials and the dent to verify.
