Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Manhattan are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Manhattan in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost: Felines in Manhattan, Kansas

I’m heartbroken because my two cats went missing last night around 8:30 p.m. from our apartment near Bluemont Street in Manhattan. I’ve been calling their names and walking the Aggieville area toward the K-State campus, checking every corner and doorway near Fort Riley Boulevard, but there’s no sign. Milo is the curious tabby with a small white patch, Luna is the calmer calico, and I miss them terribly already. I’m hoping someone nearby might have seen them and can help bring them home.

Lost paintings near Manhattan Town Center.

I lost my paintings at the Manhattan Town Center on Poyntz Ave around 4:15 p.m. this Saturday. One piece shows a stormy Kansas sky over a flat field, the other a quiet sunset over the Konza prairie. They mean a lot to me—years of work and a few family memories are wrapped up in them. I’m anxious I’ll never see them again, and I keep replaying the moment I walked toward the food court and realized they weren’t in my tote.

Lost my synthesizers near Aggieville, Manhattan.

I was in Manhattan, KS for a gig last Friday. At around 9:15 p.m., I left my synthesizers on a table inside the K-State Student Union lobby while I grabbed a quick coffee. When I came back, the room was thinning out and the gear was gone. Those synths aren't just instruments to me; they're how I write melodies that keep me sane after long rehearsals. If someone picked them up, I hope they're somewhere safe nearby Aggieville or the Union.

Lost swimsuits in Manhattan, KS

After a swim at CiCo Park Pool around 6:20 PM on Tuesday, I realized my swimsuits were missing. I had left them on a lounge chair by the poolside while I rinsed off in the locker area, and now they’re gone. The suit is a blue two-piece with a small red heart and a stain from the pool chalk, and it means a lot after a rough week of exams. I hope a kind soul turned them in, or that someone picked them up for safekeeping.

Lost Student ID near K-State Union

I was grabbing a quick coffee at the K-State Student Union on Monday around 12:45 PM when I realized my student ID was missing from my wallet. I must have dropped it near the north entrance by the outdoor seating area outside the union, possibly near the vending machines. Losing it is a hassle with classes starting soon, and I’m hoping it turns up. The ID holds my campus access and student number, so any help would be a huge relief.

LOST: Puppies in Manhattan, Kansas

2:45 PM, Friday, near Aggieville on the edge of the K-State campus, two puppies bolted from my side during a quick break from a walk. One is small with a tan coat, the other a bit bigger and black-faced, both curious and fast. I chased them past the campus bookstore and down Poyntz Avenue, but they slipped into the crowd and vanished. Losing them hurts more than I can say, and I’m praying someone who saw them can help bring them home. If you spotted two puppies wandering around Aggieville or near the K-State campus, please keep an eye out.
