I found a red-eared slider turtle this afternoon around 3:45pm behind the Walmart on 19th Street in Lubbock. It's about 2 to 3 inches long, with a bright green shell and bold yellow lines, plus the distinctive red patch behind each eye. It looks healthy but a bit spooked, and I’ve put it in a temporary plastic tub with a shallow water dish and a couple of fake plants to hide in. The left edge of the shell has a tiny notch and there’s a small healed scratch along the top ridge—two features that might help you recognize it if it’s yours. I really want to reunite it with its owner; pets like this deserve a good home.
