Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Liverpool are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Liverpool in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Sheet music lost near Cavern Club

On Friday at 6:45 pm I was warming up for a recital outside the Cavern Club on Mathew Street when my sheet music binder slipped from my bag and I lost it amid the bustle. The blue binder is worn, with a red cover and a pencil tucked in the spine. It holds the pieces I’ve practiced for weeks, pieces I need for Sunday’s rehearsal, and tonight I’d barely started when it disappeared. The streetlights glittered on the River Mersey and I felt a knot in my stomach. I’m hoping someone nearby picked it up and will hold onto it for me; it feels like a piece of my heart is missing.

Lost travel adapters in Liverpool, UK

On Tuesday around 8:15 p.m., I was walking back from the Philharmonic Hall toward Albert Dock, and I must have left my travel adapters in the back pocket of my rucksack. They're a compact black set, with a red tag I tied to one of them for easy recognition. I retraced steps along Church Street toward Liverpool One and then to the ferry terminal, but I couldn't find them anywhere. I really need them for a business trip next week, and I'm hoping someone picked them up and kept them safe.

Lost Canines near Albert Dock, Liverpool

Last night, at 7:15 PM I lost Daisy and Milo during a walk along the Strand by the Royal Albert Dock. Daisy is a brown terrier with a white chest; Milo is a white-and-black terrier mix with a distinctive patch on his ear. I have retraced the routes through Liverpool ONE, across Duke Street, and around Sefton Park, calling their names until my throat hurt. They are more than pets to me; they are family, and I am terrified they will wander farther away. If you have seen them anywhere near the Albert Dock or Sefton Park, please let me know via the site.

Lost document holders near Liver Building, Liverpool

I lost my document holders this morning in Liverpool, around 11:20 am, somewhere near the Central Library on William Brown Street. They're black with a red spine and hold a mix of dissertation drafts and notes that matter a lot to me. I remember leaving them on a table near the reference desk and I must have walked away for a moment; I came back and they were gone. If anyone picked them up or knows where they went, I would be forever grateful to have them back.

Lost hamsters in Liverpool city center

I’m Oliver Reed. I lost my two hamsters, Niko and Luna, last Tuesday at about 7:45 p.m. in Liverpool city centre. I’d been walking from the Cavern Quarter toward Albert Dock with a small blue carry cage on my wrist. I paused near the Liver Building to take a photo, and when I looked again they’d vanished. They’re tiny, brown with a white patch, and they’re surprisingly quick. They’re very friendly once you coax them out with a seed. If you see them, please check around Albert Dock and the Liver Building area—the benches and kiosks there are full of hiding spots.

Lost Shoes near Cavern Club, Liverpool

Last Friday, after leaving the Cavern Club on Mathew Street around 10:15 PM, I realized my shoes were gone. They’re a pair of black leather loafers—simple, reliable, and worn for work and nights out alike. I’m desperate to find them before my shift next Monday. If you saw them near the Cavern Club or around Mathew Street, please respond through the site. I’d be grateful to have them back.
