Lost something on public transport?

How to track down an item left on a bus, train, tram, or taxi by contacting the right transport operator.

Items left on buses, trains, trams, and taxis around Indianapolis are usually handed in to the operator's lost property team — the trick is contacting the right one quickly.

  1. Identify the operator. Note the route, line, or company and the rough time. Each operator runs its own lost property process.
  2. Submit a lost property report. Use the operator's online form or phone line as soon as possible; recovered items are logged against your description.
  3. For taxis and rideshare, contact the driver or company directly through your booking or app receipt.
  4. Keep your reference. Save any report number so you can chase it up.
  5. Post a listing. Add a listing for Indianapolis in case a fellow passenger picked it up.

Lost Equipment for Various Sports in Indianapolis

Taylor Martin here. I was stepping out after a late practice near Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday when I realized my Equipment for Various Sports bag was missing as I passed the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. The bag is a black duffel with a red stripe; inside you’d find a baseball glove, a pair of worn soccer cleats, a tennis racket in a blue cover, and a rolled yoga mat. I’ve got back-to-back practices and job shifts this week, so losing gear that covers several sports hits hard and makes me worry about keeping up. If it turns up, I just want it back where it belongs.

Lost sculptures in Indianapolis

I LOST a pair of small sculptures I was prepping for an outdoor display. I was near the Soldiers and Sailors Monument on Monument Circle around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when they vanished from the setup table. The pieces are about 8-12 inches tall, made of brushed steel with simple geometric shapes—special to me because they were gifts from a mentor. I’m hoping someone picked them up by accident and will bring them back to the City Market area.

Lost travel adapters near Monument Circle, Indianapolis.

I lost my travel adapters last Saturday around 6:30 PM near Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis. The adapters are in a small gray case with a USB-C adapter and a standard US plug, plus a short black cable. They’re essential for charging my laptop while I’m here for work, and losing them really threw a wrench into my week. I retraced my steps around the circle and at Circle Centre Mall, but I haven’t found them. If someone happens to spot them, I’d be grateful for their help in getting them back.

Lost: Radios in downtown Indianapolis near Monument Circle

Hi, I'm Liam Carter. This morning at 8:10 am I was walking through the City Market District near Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis when I dropped two small portable radios from my backpack. They're not fancy, but they matter to my weekend radio club outings. I retraced my steps along Market Street for nearly thirty minutes, but the radios were gone. It's a bit frustrating to misplace something that helps me stay connected. If you found them, please drop a note through the site so we can arrange a meetup. Thank you.

Lost photographs from my Indianapolis trip

I lost a set of photographs from my road trip. On Friday night around 6:45 p.m., I realized they were missing from a brown leather album I carry in my tote. I was near Monument Circle, just outside Circle Centre Mall, and I remember fanning through them for a cousin minutes earlier. These photos mean the world to me—they’re snapshots from family gatherings and a late summer visit to Fountain Square that capture a memory I can’t replace. If you saw them or picked them up by mistake, I’d be grateful to have them back in the album where they belong.
