Lost pocket watches at The Strand, Galveston
At around 7:15 p.m. last Saturday, I realized my grandfather's pocket watches were gone from my vest pocket while I was strolling along The Strand in Galveston. I had paused near a coffee cart and then walked toward 23rd Street, only to notice they had vanished when I reached the corner by the old opera house. The watches are brass with a dark patina and a tiny engraving on the back: 'B.H. 1903.' They mean the world to me, a family heirloom, and losing them feels like losing a part of my history. I'm hopeful that someone who picked them up might remember where they came from and return them to the people who care.
