He's about 38 pounds, with a red nylon collar and a small bone-shaped tag, and he has a white chest with a tiny scar on his right hind leg. Last seen near the East Oregon Community Park entrance off Pine Street by Riverside Market, then heading toward Willow Avenue. I was walking the Riverside Trail behind Pendleton this morning at 8:20 AM when I spotted a worn paperback tucked under a bench near the East Oregonian building. The title, Wild and Domestic, looked well-loved, with a faded blue cover and a crease along the spine. I picked it up and left it on the bench by the building, hoping its owner might notice the coffee ring on the inside cover and the small dog-eared pages. It felt like a quiet, small loss that mattered to someone, and I’d love to see it find its way home.
