Found an item? Your responsibilities

  5. Post a found listing. Add a found-item listing for Beaumont / Port Arthur with enough detail for the real owner to identify it — while holding back one verifying detail.

Found hats near Port Arthur seawall

I was walking along Gulfway Drive near the Port Arthur seawall when, at 2:15 p.m. this afternoon, I found a small pile of hats abandoned by the wind. A tan fedora, a blue baseball cap, and a red sunhat with a faded ribbon lay together as if waiting for someone to notice them. They looked like someone’s quick moment of heat-and-go, and I kept them tucked in a tote for safekeeping. I hope the owner will see this post and reclaim them through the site.

Found two paintings near Art Museum of Southeast Texas

Hi, I'm Rebecca Ellis. I found these two paintings Thursday around 4:15 p.m. behind a bench by the Art Museum of Southeast Texas on Franklin Street in Beaumont, in the Beaumont / Port Arthur, Texas area. The wind had loosened their protective wrap, and I picked them up to keep them from getting damaged or stepped on. The frames scrape a little and one canvas has a small scuff, but the colors, deep blues and sunlit gold, still glow. I felt a rush of relief afterward, like I had stopped someone from losing a piece of their story, and I'm posting here in case the owner recognizes them.

Found: Violins in Beaumont-Port Arthur, TX

Hi, I’m Mateo Ramirez. I found two violins on a bench near the Museum of the Gulf Coast in Port Arthur, Texas, around 4:15 p.m. on Sunday. The case is worn and taped, and the wood shows a few scratches, but the instruments look well-loved; rosin sticks to the strings. It seems someone may have left them behind after practice or a lesson, and I wanted to get them to someone who can take care of them. If you recognize these instruments, please let the site know and we’ll get them back to you.

Found Devices in Beaumont / Port Arthur, Texas

Hi, I’m Jamie Brooks. I found a backpack containing a laptop, a tablet, a smartwatch, and a charger behind the Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont around 4:45 PM yesterday. The street along Texas Avenue was busy with traffic, and the bag looked left behind in a way that said someone needed it soon. I kept it safe on a nearby bench and asked a couple passersby, but no one claimed it. I hope this helps the owner—we all rely on our devices more than we realize.

Found power tools in Beaumont

I found these power tools this morning around 9:30 a.m. in Beaumont, near the Central Mall parking lot by the Sears entrance. I checked for any tags or stickers, but nothing tied them to an owner. It felt right to hold onto them and post this so the rightful owner has a chance to reclaim them. If this is yours, please claim it through the site.

Found 24-inch Christmas wreath with red bow

I found a 24-inch artificial evergreen Christmas wreath with a bright red satin bow and a small gold snowflake ornament attached. I came across it this afternoon around 2:15 pm in the parking lot behind the Walmart on Calder Avenue in Beaumont, near the garden center entrance. It’s in decent shape, a bit dusty from the weather, with a few glitter flecks that catch the light when it’s moved. There are a couple of unique marks too: a tiny blue pine-needle snag on the left edge and a frayed spot on the red ribbon near the bow, plus the gold snowflake ornament sticks out as a distinctive feature. If this belongs to you, email me with a quick description of these features to confirm it’s yours and we can figure out pickup.
